Andreas Dymek

Hi, I am Andy! I’m a product manager with an M.Sc. in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen. I figure out what to build, then design and ship intuitive, user-centered products.

My Work

A few noteworthy stops from my product journey.

Product Manager

amber · Series A Startup (7 Mio) · Aachen · now

amber is an enterprise AI platform connecting company knowledge through AI search, chat, and agents, so users get the right information at the right time.

I own product strategy and delivery end to end with engineering, turning feedback from users, sales, and customer success into shipped features.

WebWriter: Branching Scenario

RWTH Learning Technologies · Aachen · 2025

WebWriter helps educators create interactive worksheets and export them as HTML. I joined the team for my master’s thesis, working on a way for teachers to create adaptive lessons that follow different paths without having to write any code.

I designed and built a branching editor in TypeScript and Lit, then put it in the hands of five educators for a task-based study. Their feedback helped me identify what worked, where they got stuck, and what the team should improve next.

After my thesis, the team invited me back to design and develop an interactive-video widget, giving educators another way to bring their lessons to life.

System Developer Intern (Product & UX)

BMW Group · Munich · 2023

During my internship I redesigned a vehicle-analysis product used by 2,000 analysts worldwide. Planning and execution lived in two tools; I unified them in a high-fidelity prototype and tested it with analysts. These changes reduced handoff work for analysts.

SeamSmart

Media Computing Group · RWTH Aachen · 2022

An iOS sewing coach: sew the line, snap a photo, get feedback on technique. I was a software developer on it, working in Swift, SwiftUI, and OpenCV, and helped shape the look and the UX flow, with 10 sewing instructors.

Software Developer Intern

Fraunhofer USA CMI · Boston · 2022

Boston was my first time working in the US! I built C++ desktop software for fuel-cell inspection: visual controls and live measurement for operators on the line.

ARPen: Scaling, rotating, undo/redo

Media Computing Group · RWTH Aachen · 2021

ARPen is an AR CAD tool on iPhone. You take it to something in the real world, a broken pipe you need a part for, and sketch the first 3D model in place. The export keeps real-world centimeter dimensions, so the piece already fits the thing you were looking at.

For my bachelor’s thesis I added three features: new ways to scale and rotate in mid-air, and an undo/redo manager.

Projects

When I spot a problem worth solving, I build something that makes someone’s day a little easier.

Aachen Basketball

Finding your next game shouldn’t mean asking the coach to resend a PDF buried in the team’s WhatsApp chat. As a basketball player, I wanted an easier way to follow our season and understand what was happening across the local leagues.

So I built AachenBasketball.de, using official league data from the TeamSL API of the Deutscher Basketball Bund (DBB). It’s one place to find local clubs, explore their leagues, and check schedules, scores, and standings. NBA-style playoff brackets make it easier to see how the postseason works and who could face whom next.

It’s a personal project built around something I care about: making local basketball easier to follow for teammates, fans, and anyone looking for a club to join.

Let’s connect

Thanks for scrolling all the way! Here’s a short summary: I’m Andy, a product manager and product designer with a background in software engineering and a master’s in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen. I love creating products around the people who use them. Understanding what users need and giving them a product that helps them truly makes me happy!

In my downtime, I’m into filmmaking and spend plenty of time on the court with my local basketball team. Still working on that jumper.
